Experts for the statistics fields in the commissions
established by the German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG)
(status: February 2012)
The following commissions are active at the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM):
- approval commission pursuant to section 25 sub-section 6 of the German Drug Law (AMG) for human medicines except for special therapies (Commission A, Zulassungskommission nach § 25 Abs. 6 für den humanmedizinischen Bereich mit Ausnahme der besonderen Therapierichtungen),
- commission pursuant to section 25 sub-sections 6 and 7 AMG for human medicines, anthroposophic therapies and substance group (Commission C, Kommission nach § 25 Abs. 6 und 7 AMG für den humanmedizinischen Bereich, antroposophische Therapierichtung und Stoffgruppe),
- commission pursuant to section 25 sub-sections 6 and 7 AMG for human medicines, homeopathic therapies and substance group (Commission D, Kommission nach § 25 Abs. 6 und 7 AMG für den humanmedizinischen Bereich, homöopathische Therapierichtung und Stoffgruppe),
- commission pursuant to section 25 sub-sections 6 and 7 AMG for human medicines, phytotherapeutic therapies and substance group (Commission E, Kommission nach § 25 Abs. 6 und 7 AMG für den humanmedizinischen Bereich, phytotherapeutische Therapierichtung und Stoffgruppe).
The following commission is active at the German Federal Institute for Health Consumer Protection and Veterinary Medicine (BgVV):
- Commission pursuant to section 25 sub-sections 6 and 7 AMG for veterinary medicines (Commission F, Kommission nach § 25 Abs. 6 und 7 AMG für den veterinärmedizinischen Bereich).
The individual societies (German Region of the International Biometric Society, German Society for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology) nominate experts to participate in the above mentioned commissions. The BMG then appoints them for a period of three years, with a second appointment being possible subsequently. Following this period, the individual societies are requested to nominate new experts.

Reviewer for the field "Epidemiology, Medical Biometry, Medical Informatics, Public Health" in the review board "medicine" at the German Research Foundation (DFG)
(status: February 2013)
Nominations are being submitted by the German Region of the International Biometric Society, the GMDS, the German Society for Informatics (GI), the German Association for demography (DGD) as well as universities and higher education institutions. The mandate is three years. A re-election is possible once. The German Research Foundation holds the elections among all scientists active in Germany.
