Application Guidelines

Own applications for achievements made in Germany or by Germans abroad can be submitted to the President of the German Region of the International Biometric Society by October 31 of each year. Next to the paper/work, information about the scientific career of the candidate needs to be submitted. Each year, up to generally two Gustav Adolf Lienert Awards are generally being assigned to candidates on the sole basis of the quality of the respective application. Accordingly, up to generally three Bernd Streitberg Awards are assigned in the categories bachelor/diploma (FH) thesis and master/diploma thesis.

The Executive and Advisory Board decide on the laureates and their ranking, if required, on the basis of the nominations presented by a reviewer committee. This committee is selected by the Executive Board and remains active for a period of two years.

The nominated award winners will be invited to the plenary session "Nachwuchsförderpreise Biometrie 20xx" (young talent awards biometrics 20xx) of the Biometric Colloquium in order to give a lecture that is generally 20 minutes long (status: invited lecture, no conference fee). The award, which is coupled with a prize money, is being awarded by the Executive Board during the conference. Furthermore, the IBS-DR will reimburse conference costs (incl. participation in the conference dinner) as well as travel expenses including accommodation for two nights. Each laureate will be invited to publish their awarded work in the journal of the German Region "Biometrical Journal".
